Our main goal for the two weeks up at the farm was to erect a deer fence and plant 74 apple trees. The weather started off pretty chilly most mornings and then warmed up nicely by the afternoon. James' size 2 coat from last winter just barely fit this year.
And he was ALWAYS ready to go outside- really this child might be very happy to go feral.
The koi pond continues to be a hit- and this year there are three babies in it in addition to the 3 adults.
But it can't be all play- so Tonya, James and Sharon got to work rolling up the weed guard over the previously tilled rows (we got the soil tested and added lime, phosphate etc earlier this year).
James practiced his skills as a supervisor.
We spent the previous days putting in the fence posts- 8 with cement footings and the rest of the 9 foot post were manually driven into the ground by Tim.
I couldn't wait for the 300 feet of fencing to finally be up so I could have a way to contain James' boundless energy.
Which included ladder climbing- and refusal to come back down.
All three women trying to convince James to come down.
Adamant refusal.
Thought he got the best of us with his grumpy faces.
Then Aunt Tonya sneak attacked him from behind.
Once the ladder was laid flat on the ground to remove the dangerous temptation of climbing the ladder unsupervised James found the next best thing to climb on- the roll of fencing waiting to be put up.
