23 week belly shot

Christi took this photo as their Margarita Bomb party on Saturday night (though it couldn't been Sunday morning since we were there until 4:30am...no margaritas for me though!). I thought I hadn't really been looking pregnant yet, but I suppose I do! In the morning it's not so obvious, but after a full day of food and many bottles of water my stomach is definitely big. I just cannot imagine how big it will be at the end...17 weeks to go!

Since he's a boy...

Tim was a big baby...9.5lbs and at first that concerned me, but when Sharon said he was 21 inches long and I saw this picture of him soon after birth I realized he was not really all that chubby (and he was born at home!). Here he is getting a little jaundice prevention.
(Warning: if you are still on dial-up this post has 20 pictures so it will take a while to load- and remember, you can always click on a picture to see it bigger...ahem, momma)

I decided to look through all of Sharon's (Tim's mom) albums when we were visiting her this past weekend to see what Tim looked like growing up and I am TREMENDOUSLY surprised and pleased with how cute and adorable he was (and still is).
Little blondie with fuzzy hair.
I think he is about 2 months old in the picture where Sharon is holding him. 6 or 7 months old on the bed. Not sure about his age in the highchair.
I didn't have a specific item I adored as a child, but apparently Tim did. He had two matching receiving blankets from when he was an infant that he latched onto. Sharon said she had a really hard time even getting the dirty one from him to put it in the wash- he seemed to think the clean one smelled a bit suspicious. In this picture one of the two blankets is being loved to almost nothing- it kept getting smaller and smaller through all that love.
Ever the true boy...sawing on something and looking mighty mischievous.

I think this is a passport photo...not sure what age.
Still a boy, playing on what is either a sack of coffee, feed or seed.

His first years of life were spent growing up on a farm in Jamaica.
You can see where Tim gets his looks when you see both Sharon and his dad, Rob.

Both Tim and I were blonds when we were little- so we'll see what this baby of ours comes out looking like.

Ah, how will I ever tell my child not to play with guns if he ever sees this picture of his dad?
Impish...
Angelic...Even reading a bible story...

but still a clown.Tim still has this Manchester United scarf. I think it will need to be hung up in the nursery.

Finished a few more things...Val- you'll be so proud!

Baby Surprise sweater in baby alpaca yarn with buttons from my nana's button collection that I've had for many years waiting for the perfect project.
Because the buttons came from an old stash they are mismatched, but that's okay with me since they are the only embellishments on an otherwise pretty plain sweater.
Is an old, partially dried up grapefruit smaller than the average newborn head? I hope so!
I finished knitting theses socks back in early January and finally finished seaming them over the weekend.
These are called baby Moc-a-Socs. They are all one piece even though it looks like the socks are separate.
Same green yarn that is on the above hat's tassel and also the green strips on a sweater I am currently seaming up.

Girls weekend renamed...

Happy as clams
Val suggested that we rename our Girls' Weekend to Knitting Weekend- and I think we're contemplating calling next year's Knitcation.
It does seem that since we all like knitting and it was super hot and humid here in Atlanta this past weekend that we did a lot of knitting, chatting (while knitting), chick flicks (while knitting), pedicures (while knitting) so perhaps this change would be appropriate.
Tim took the pictures and he thought we should definitely have our newly pedicured feet in the shot.
Val is knitting socks as a surprise for her husband's birthday in October (I am assuming he doesn't read my blog and I won't ruin the surprise), I am knitting a baby sweater that has a darling owl pattern on it (will post pictures of it when I am finished), and Christi is knitting Elsa an elaborate sweater for this Fall/Winter.

Father's Day

If you know Tim at all you know he LOVES to fly-fish and now that he's having a boy I thought a few books might get his imagination going on what it will be like to share his love of fishing with his son.

First gifts

Since this is sort of my online line baby book so I can remember things later on I thought I'd post some of the lovely gifts I've received on behalf of this baby.
Sue Johnson (Christi's mom) gave us our very first baby gift. At the time I couldn't imagine having a baby by Christmas that would fit this reindeer onesie, but I am slowly getting used to the idea.
From my sister, Krista, a cuddly bear for snuggling. The softest of all materials. I am sure it will be loved.
Christ and Jarrett went to Oregon earlier this year and brought back this great monkey for the baby. And then last Monday when we found out we are having a boy Christi got us our first boy outfit.
That same day I bought my first boy outfit- couldn't resist a little shopping celebration.
I also stopped that day by the local consignment store looking for some summer maternity options. Didn't find anything for myself, but did find these for $17. The outfit on the right has tiny fish on the pants and hat that I thought Tim would like.
At least two years ago when I was living in VA I went to my local Hancock's fabric store just around the corner and browsed through their flannel options, found some great ones and whipped up these blankets and burp cloths. I have some of the duplicates away, but saved a set for me for my someday baby.
