Ladybug fun! (for Aunt Tonya)

At Christmas Aunt Tonya gave James this great ladybug scooter- and up until last week it was a wonderful decoration in his room.  He would sometimes sit on it and let you push him a couple of feet, but then he'd be ready to get off.  Then suddenly earlier this week he started zooming around the house on it- his new  favorite mode of transportation.
Outside he zoomed until he found a weed that he had to pull for me (seriously, making weeding a game was inspired).

An attempt to capture his sometimes curls- I'll keep trying!
 Stopping to smell the flowers.
Stopping to identify the letters.
The inside video was taken the day he embraced the ladybug.
The outside video was taken a few days later when he had gotten a bit more coordinated.  Now around the smooth floors inside he can really fly.

Dominos!

Every morning at Nana's James would wake up to a new Domino letter or shape to knock down.  My mom would set it up the night before once James was in bed.  When he woke up I'd take him in and show it to him and help him use one finger gently to start the cascade.  He LOVED it.  This is the last morning's domino fun.

Week at Nana and Grandad's Day 4

James eagerly waiting at the front door to get outside and into the baby pool.

Below their feet is the fruit of the mornings labor- lots of sparkly chalk drawings.
Are we ready?
Seriously, come on!!!
My parent's water is from a VERY deep well- the water out of the hose is COLD- but James didn't really seem to mind.

Could there be a better baby pool? Dinosaurs!

Discovering the fun of forcing the water to go around your finger.

James is saying hello to a ladybug that joined in the fun (this saying hello to all things he finds interesting is one of his adorable new quirks).

Just giving James a bit more practice with dealing with water on his face and in his eyes.  He put up with it.

Good thing the air temp was HOT as Aunt Krista was getting very wet from James' splashing.

"Flying"

"Swimming"

Learned how to let the water out.

Really loved that part.

Week at Nana and Grandad's- Day 3 (also titled, spoiled grandbaby)

Yesterday James woke up to find Aunt Krista home!  She introduced our old popsicle molds from when we were little.  We are going to borrow them to indulge James' new love of all things frozen.  He had a wonderful time putting all the handles in the molds and looking at the animal punchouts in the handles (lion, monkey, giraffe, etc).
The rest of this post's pictures are out of order- but show his sweaty fun day.

Resting in the hammock (while chewing on Elsa's borrowed croc).
I can't resist fluffing his hair when it sweaty.

 Back in his new present...

James is a seriously spoiled grandchild.  He now is the very proud owner of his very own bouncy thing.

An amazingly great way to burn off a toddler's energy.
